Approach Resources Inc. is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production and acquisition of unconventional natural gas and oil properties onshore in the United States and British Columbia. We are focusing our growth efforts on finding and developing natural gas reserves in known tight gas sands and shale gas areas. To date we have assembled leasehold interests totaling 273,800 gross (191,182 net) acres.

Our management and technical team has a proven track record of finding and exploiting unconventional reservoirs by applying advanced drilling, fracturing and completion techniques. As the operator of substantially all of our proved reserves, we have a high degree of control over capital expenditures and other operating matters.

Approach was founded in September 2002 to acquire and develop onshore natural gas and oil reserves. Since 2002, Approach has grown through the drill bit in our West Texas drilling program. Beginning with our first well in Ozona Northeast in February 2004, through December 2007, we have drilled 285 successful wells out of 303 total wells drilled - a 94% success rate. As of December 31, 2007, we had proved reserves of 180.4 Bcfe. We have now identified 859 additional drilling locations, of which 679 are located in the Ozona Northeast field, 119 in our Cinco Terry project and 61 in our North Bald Prairie prospect. Out of the 859 indentified drilling locations, 265 are considered proved.
